Built in 1873, 111 S. Third St. was primarily a Saloon & Boarding House until Prohibition. Shortly after the prohibition ended, John Baptist Remillard purchased Remillard's Tavern (Remies), and after three generations of Remillard's ownership, Remies was purchased by the Modell family in 1992.
