Breakfast and Business Series: Healthcare in Our Community

Friday, March 27, 2026

Description

Join us for the March Breakfast & Business, focused on healthcare in Marquette County.

Start your morning with coffee, breakfast, and time to connect before a conversation with regional leaders about the role healthcare plays in our community. We’ll also kick things off with a brief update from Zack Sedgwick, Marquette Area Public Schools, who will share an overview of the upcoming Marquette Area Public Schools bond.

This healthcare panel will take a closer look at how residents are accessing care today, where gaps still exist, and how local organizations are actively working to address challenges like workforce, access, and evolving patient needs. Panelists will also share what’s actually gaining traction in areas like telehealth and innovation, along with what policy changes could mean for communities like ours.

We’ll explore the connection between healthcare, quality of life, and economic growth, with time for questions and open dialogue.

Registration is encouraged, as space is limited. Breakfast and networking are included.

Panelists include:

Tonya Darner, UP Health System
Melissa Holmquist, Upper Peninsula Health Plan
Elise Bur, NMU Center for Rural Health

We’ll also be joined by special guests Lauren LaPine and Laura Appel from the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.
